Armor Hero Star Ray (铠甲勇士星曜决醒) is the sixth installment[1] of the Armor Hero Series.
Plot[]
The Dark King from the dark world wants to seize the power of the stars and rule the universe, it assigns the General Hui Guang to attract powerful beasts everywhere to devour human's heart. In order to protect human civilization, a group of young people use the power of the star from the sky to become Armor Heroes, and fight against the Dark King with their own bravery and fearlessness. The chaos caused by the alien beast continues, and the Armor Heroes will overcome the difficulties and obstacles ahead with the indomitable will, and work together to against the evil Dark King and General Hui Guang's conspiracy.

Casting & Filming[]
The casting and filming began in late 2023. Both the drama and action portions of the series were directed by Zeng Xiangcheng, who previously portrayed Ma Qingshan in Armor Hero Lava.
Registeration[]
Several code names were registered by the production company in November 2023 such as: Armor Hero Zero, Armor Hero Flame, Armor Hero Blade, Armor Hero Phantom, Armor Hero Torrent, Armor Hero Saturn and Armor Hero Galaxy. In 2024, the show's English title was registered as Armor Hero Star Ray.
Complaint of AI Usage[]
While not officially confirmed by Alpha or Herobox, there are accusations (based on various "AI tells") that the opening theme and some visual and background elements (such as photos and images) may have been generated with AI. However, despite online rumors suggesting as much, there is no actual confirmation of these claims as of now. On the contrary, the designer for the monsters has been confirmed to be the same designer who worked on the monsters of Armor Hero Lava. Likewise the heroes were designed internally at Alpha by human designers, some of whom have done multiple designs for the series in the past. While the initial release of the belt included a voice believed by many to be AI, this voice line was replaced with what appears to be normal Text to Speech (rather than newer Gen AI voice generation) in the toy, and the allegedly AI voice clip has not appeared in the show itself whatsoever. All alleged AI elements appear to have been details added into the show in post-production by Herobox, which seems to have not been part of the original intent of the pre-production and in-production staff. As of now neither Alpha nor Herobox have publicly confirmed or denied the use of AI in the show, yet Chinese and Western fans have been calling out its perceived usage.

- The heroes are based on Chinese Mythologies, such as Ray Thunder is based on Leizhenzi
, Ray Ferno is based on Sun Wukong, and Ray Vortex is based on Erlang Shen. - The monsters are based on the Twenty-Eight Mansions in Chinese constellations.
- This is the first Armor Hero series where the titular Armor Hero didn't have Red as the main color scheme.
