- The Chief emerging as Lame Gold is an homage to the 6th Ranger
additions in Super Sentai which was first experimented with in Bioman and Maskman
before becoming tradition starting in Zyuranger. The trope of the mentor becoming a hero assisting the team has also appeared in many Sentai.
