This article is about a villain in Choukou Senshi Changerion.
Dark General Zander (闇将軍ザンダー, Yami Shōgun Zandā) is one of the villain who appear in Choukou Senshi Changerion.
Fictional Character Biography[]
Zander is one of the 3 Sacred Cadres and the highest commander of Darkzide. A muscular, fearless fighter who deserves the title of the 'General', he wields a large blue dragon blade-shaped sword in battle. Sometimes, a shell-shaped mask can be opens with his emotional resentment, showing his hidden face inside. At first, his human form was only temporary, and later disguised as a gambler Kazuki Katagiri (片桐 一樹, Katagiri Kazuki) in the middle of the series.
Zander is trying to perform the "villain conquest" like other traditional tokusatsu villains. In order to defeat the Changerion, he says he will not leave obscene means, based on realistic judgment considering the entire Darkzide. In fact, when he captured Akira, he listened to Akira's offer to take Hayami as a substitute hostage. Although his relationship with Gauzer is terrible, they are repeating a heavy confrontation whether they recognizes each other's ability.
In the TV series, the final conclusion with Changerion ended without being drawn.

When he wants to return to his original form, he (in human form) will shout "Dark Burst!" (ダーク・バースト, Dāku Bāsuto).

Portrayal[]
Zander is voiced by Ryūzaburō Ōtomo (大友 龍三郎, Ōtomo Ryūzaburō), and unknown suit actor. As Kazuki Katagiri, he is portrayed by Yutaka Hirose (広瀬匠, Hirose Takumi).

Zander was designed by Tamotsu Shinohara (篠原 保, Shinohara Tamotsu). From the image of the armor, its design motif is crustaceans[1].
Trivia[]
Zander's suit would later be reused as the EbiRoid
in the 2004 stage show, Kamen Rider Super Live: Cho Henshin Battle.
