Eightranger (エイトレンジャー) is the 2012 live action film version of Kanjani8's highly popular concert skits Kanjani Sentai Eightranger. The movie is a much more serious and better-defined version of the stories from the skits. Set in 2035. the film has its rangers tackle very real personal problems on top of their ranger duties. Also the costumes are designed to be less ginicky and more action-utilitarian. The heroes are also mentored by a new character called Captain Silver
.
It is directed by Tsutsumi Yukihiko (20th Century Boys) and slated for release July 28, 2012.
