This article is about a monster in the Tokusatsu genre.

Ghoul (Ngạ Quỷ) are monsters featured in the Mighty Guardian: Lost Avian series.

History[]

"When evil energy awakens, that's when the hungry ghouls rise from beneath the earth."

Ghouls (Ngạ Quỷ) are low-level monsters formed by lingering souls that roam the mortal world. They are hungry demons that seek to devour human spiritual energy. Ghouls typically emerge in swarms, but individual entities have been observed hunting alone in deserted areas plagued with negative energy. Despite being low-level and mindless, they can evolve like other types of demons.

In today's era, where yang energy thrives and yin energy wanes, these creatures lie dormant underground. Nonetheless, they can still materialize when summoned by a more powerful evil force.

Etymology[]

  • According to the official Facebook post, it is stated that the design for Ghoul draws inspiration from the concept of Hungry Ghost (Ma đói) in various beliefs and folklore. Its skeletal body and head, complete with numerous maggot-infested holes and a moveable jaw, add to its terrifying and dynamic appearance on screen. Additionally, the entire body of Ghoul is wrapped in incantations, reminiscent of ancient sorcerers' rituals for cultivating hungry ghosts.
