Kanpai Senshi After V is a 2014 Super Sentai Series parody tokusatsu series, airing concurrently with Ressha Sentai ToQger
. In a similar vein to Toei's own 'unofficial' Sentai parody Hikonin Sentai Akibaranger
, it light-heartedly pokes fun at the traditions and tropes seen in Sentai series.
A sequel, New Kanpai Senshi After V, was aired in 2015.

References/Homages to Super Sentai and other Tokusatsu[]
- Aesthetically, After V is especially reminiscent of Super Sentai
series made in the early 1980s. The name 'After V' is a homage to the 1982 Sentai series Goggle-V
. The teams' suits appear as a hybrid of the 1980 and 1981 Sentai Denziman
and Sun Vulcan
with gems on the helmet like Goggle-V. Likewise, the Treasure Robo is reminiscent of DaiDenzin
and the Sun Vulcan Robo
.
- Treasure V is a five-man team with the color scheme Red/Blue/Pink/Yellow/Green, the most commonly used quintet of colors since the original Himitsu Sentai Gorenger
, also used in Denziman and various later Sentai including Ressha Sentai ToQger
, the Sentai whose run After V aired within.
- Yellow has been shown to love eating curry, as the original Kirenger
in Himitsu Sentai Gorenger
did.
- As was the norm for early Sentai, the gender ratio is four men (Red/Blue/Yellow/Green) and one woman (Pink).
- Yellow's replacement being female is a reference to the change started by Chodenshi Bioman
, the first Sentai with a female Yellow alongside the Pink, which gradually became the prefered option to this day.
- The departure of the New Yellow (due to maternity leave) from the team and subsequent replacement by the original Yellow is another reference to Kirenger. In Gorenger, Daita Ooiwa left the team for a period of 13 episodes before rejoining following the death of his replacement Daigorou Kumano
.

- Yellow's replacement being female is a reference to the change started by Chodenshi Bioman
- Like the original Midorenger
and Green Sai
from Choujuu Sentai Liveman
, Green wields a boomerang weapon.
- The Chief emerging as Lame Gold is an example of the 6th Ranger
additions which was first experimented with in Bioman and Maskman
before becoming tradition starting in Zyuranger
. The trope of the mentor
becoming a hero assisting the team has also appeared in many Sentai.
- The combatant's battle uniform while fighting After V is reminiscent of the combatmen
of Shocker
seen in the original
Kamen Rider Series
, in particular the presence of a mask reminiscent of those worn by lucha libre wrestlers. While in the restaurant, the combatant addresses the commander with a salute and "Eeeee!" like servants of Shocker.

Notes[]
- The show's title is a pun based on the old adage that people should not drink until after 5:00pm because the alcohol will cause afternoon fatigue.
- The title also contains the word Kampai and the characters are in a bar talking about their lives. The word Kampai translates to "Cheers"
