This article is about a hero in Choukou Senshi Changerion.Alongside Akira Suzumura, Katsuhiko Hayami (速水 克彦, Hayami Katsuhiko) is the main character in Choukou Senshi Changerion.
Character History[]
Hayami originally is "a man who was supposed to be Changerion", who was scouted by Munakata as a SAIDOC member and has endured rigorous training. Due to the replacement of his Larm with Akira, Hayami has been transformed into the long-sought Changerion once. Even after that, he was jealous of the merciless and unscrupulous Akira who gaining the power of Changerion, and he was taken in by the darkness of his heart and turned into Dark Monster by the power of Vinsu.
At the end of the series, Hayami accidentally ate the "Seed of Darkness" (which has become an umeboshi) brought by Munakata who returns from the dark dimension, and after that, he can transform into a mysterious hero, The Blader (ザ・ブレイダー, Za Bureidā). However, he did not remember when he was changing. Because the transformation did not last long, Hayami ended up wanting to know the true identity of The Blader without knowing the truth.
Another World version[]
In the final episode, Hayami is aware and can control his power (The Blader) on his own will.
Personality[]
Hayami is a serious, strait-laced man in contrast with Akira, his sense of duty is very strong, and he bravely fights against Dark Monsters to protect people. He feels a bit of animosity towards Akira for stealing his thunder. His sincerity reaches the hearts of stubborn women, and although he has it, he thinks he cannot do it because he has never received a clear attack. On the other hand, because of his seriousness and heat, he was easily deceived by others (mainly Akira) and thought hard, and he did not stop the begging enemy, and it became clear that he was not suitable for a hero.
Transformations[]
Hayami transforms with the shout of "Version Up" (バージョンアップ, Bājon Appu) and appears with a good laugh. Hayami who has unconsciously acquired the ability to transform by eating the "Seed of Darkness", which manifests himself after eating umeboshi and losing consciousness for a very short time. The basic color is green, good at fighting with a macho appearance, and his movement is agile.
Hayami's serious personality was reflected and encouraged, and he is very popular because he is active in the trivial good deeds of the citizen level. Because of that, he may give up fighting against Dark Monsters. The reason for forgetting the transformation mechanism and the fact that Hayami himself was transformed will be explained in detail in the narration, it's too long to finish the explanation just before the end of the battle, also, some of them may be omitted.
In the final episode, Hayami has not lost consciousness and has transformed with a posing.
Abilities[]
- The Blader Kick (ザ・ブレイダーキック, Za Bureidā Kikku): A finisher technique of The Blader that launches a jump kick with both feet together with a forward flip into the chest of an enemy, then kicks the face beyond physical laws and breaks away from the enemy by a backward flip.
- The Blader Attack (ザ・ブレイダーアタック, Za Bureidā Atakku): Used to defeat a cockroach in a nearby, with a newspaper.

- It has been considered from the beginning of the project that Katsuhiko Hayami will be transformed into The Blader, and the design work was initially done with the image of 'red' based on the concept of 'macho tights hero', but there is also a balance with the Changerion, and the idea of 'green', which existed in parallel, was adopted. The design source is consciously approaching the color coding with the X1 Mask
in Hikari Sentai Maskman[1].
