Koharu Tachibana (立花 小春, Tachibana Koharu) is the main character and protagonist of Girl Gun Lady.

Character History

Koharu was just an ordinary high school student whose hobby was making and collecting plastic models. One day, she approached a mysterious antique shop named FFF. She entered the shop and purchases a plastic model of a gun and a toy figure named Alice.

She spent the whole night assembling the model. As soon as she finds herself asleep, she is suddenly transported to a mysterious alternate dimension in which she is suddenly met with a storm of bullets. She then encounters a mysterious woman named Lady Commander Alice, who informs her that she is a participant of a deathmatch tournament called "Girl Gun Fight", in which she has to fight her schoolmates using the very gun she assembled.

After going through some ups and downs, like learning of Alice's motive of becoming a human, the death of Natsuna Usui and letting go of her reluctance to shoot, she led her team, Alpha Tango, to victory in the tournament. Upon meeting the game master of the tournament, the Antique Shop Owner, she was about to be sacrificed along with her teammates Akiho Inada and Fuyumi Usui to make Alice human when she was saved by Alice and another Lady Commander, Amatsu, who took on the persona of Matsuko Kadowaki. She finally defeats the Owner using the Full Armed Plastic Mode Girl Gun, a combination of the three Girl Guns accompanied by a mounted Alice wearing Girl Armor, and destroys his computer, known as Girl Gun System, in the process. Unfortunately, this also meant Alice and Amatsu would lose their organic forms.

Some time later, Koharu discovered that everyone that had died in Girl Gun Fight was resurrected and restored to existence - an aftermath of the destruction of Girl Gun System - including Natsuna and Amatsu's team. However, it seemed that the revived girls had no memory of the tournament and went on with their normal lives, and only Koharu knew about these past events.

Later that night, just as she was sleeping, she found herself in a familiar dimension and saw a familiar face who said to her, "Welcome to Girl Gun Fight."

Personality

Koharu tends to be a shy and quiet girl, and her classmates mocked her for that personality. However, she is a skilled model builder, having honed that ability as a child, and she is open to conversation when she meets a person who shares the same hobby as her.

When it comes to Girl Gun Fight, she is rather reluctant as she is not willing to shoot anyone unless necessary, which in return makes her feel guilty. She lightens up a bit when she learns that she has a life stock, but becomes reluctant to fight again after learning about being erased from existence after losing all lives. She later drops the reluctance and gets more serious after Natsuna died and got erased, and learning that the Lady Commander whose team wins can become human while the others are scrapped. Finally, after the final round of Girl Gun Fight concluded and her team was declared the winner, she lamented about how she ended the tournament with everyone dead except her.

Etymology

• As with the naming scheme of the members of Alpha Tango, her name, Koharu, contains the kanji "Haru" (春) meaning "spring".
