Mamoru Hama is a young man from Yokohama, Japan who wanted to be a rock star. His plans got derailed when he rescued a young woman who just happened to be the Princess of Planet H. She deemed him worthy to use a Transformation Crystal Compact from her home planet. The Compact imbued him with powers of a Dragon and made him Star Jyan, the protector of Yokohoma.
