Metal Kaiser (五龍奇剣士/メタルカイザー Wǔ Lóng Qí Jiàn Shì/Metaru Kaizā) is a Chinese tokusatsu series. Made by the Tsuburaya Dream Factory and Shanghai Film Group.

Metal Kaiser was attempt to be Hideaki Tsuburaya's first installment of the "Chinese Ultraman" series. The origianl planned broadcasting time was from 2007 to 2008.
Scheduled filming started in January 2006, however, the company was soon unable to afford the cost anymore without sponsorship. Eventually, Tsuburaya Dream Factory had to shut the project down in early 2007. Only few footages and "behind the scene" records had been saved by the staff and being uploaded on internet.
The show was a long mystery among audiences, some even considered it as "the holy grail" of Tokusatsu history. In October 2014, the first 3 episodes of the show had evantually received a DVD release in Japanese market.
Plot[]
In The Year 2056 in Xinghai City, a strange red aurora had appeared in the sky. The red aurora-attracted evil forces was released and turns into Monsters. In the heaven realm, a Wizard（仙翁）gives the fairy Meimei（美美）four different Crystal Bangles, told that she must find four talented people to transform them into Kaisers, a type of giant warriors to stop the monster.
The four young men she found was Yuan Dong（袁东）, the Azure Dragon Kaiser, Min Xi（明西）, the White Tiger Kaiser, Jiang Nan（姜南）, the Vermilion Bird Kaiser and He Bei（赫北）, the Black Tortoise Kaiser. The story of how Kaisers team up and defeat all evil forces had begun...

iPartment II reused a suit from Metal Kaiser.
- Some prototypes monster suits were bought and modified by the Armor Hero production team in 2007.
- The filming props were later reused in Golden Hero (2008).
- A monster's suit was reused in 2011's Chinese sitcom iPartment II.
- Kaera's roar was reused in 2015 as the roar of Greeza in Ultraman X.
Notes[]
- The word "Kaiser" in the title means "emperor" in German. However, the original title actually means "Five Dragon Strange Swordsmen" in Chinese.
