This article is about a/an crossover film in the Tokusatsu Super Hero subgenre.

Saber + Zenkaiger: Superhero Senki (セイバー+ゼンカイジャー:スーパーヒーロー戦記, Seibā + Zenkaijā: Supāhīrō Senki, lit. Superhero War Chronicle)[1][2][3] is a Japanese superhero crossover film between Kamen Rider SaberIcon-crosswiki.png and Kikai Sentai ZenkaigerIcon-crosswiki.png, serving to commemorate both the Kamen Rider 50th AnniversaryIcon-crosswiki.png and Super Sentai 45th AnniversaryIcon-crosswiki.png. In the film, several veteran heroes across both franchises join forces alongside the Saber RidersIcon-crosswiki.png and the ZenkaigersIcon-crosswiki.png to fight against AsmodeusIcon-crosswiki.png. The film was also accompanied by an "special"Icon-crosswiki.png short film of Kamen Rider ReviceIcon-crosswiki.png, which featured early-bird appearances of both protagonists Kamen Rider ReviIcon-crosswiki.png and ViceIcon-crosswiki.png, ahead of their in-series debuts.

The catchphrase for this film is "Straightforward heroes, half of the century." (ヒーロー一筋、半世紀!, Hīrō hitosuji, han-seiki!)

"I will decide; at full speed, non stop; this story's ending! (物語の結末は、全力全開で、俺が決める!, Monogatari no ketsumatsu wa, zenryoku zenkai de, ore ga kimeru!)"
―Kamen Rider Saber and Zenkaizer's combined catchphrase

Touma, Yuri and Mei somehow ended up in the World of Zenkaiger while four Zenkaigers, except Juran, ended up in the World of Saber. The reason for their swap is due to a man who wishes to rid the world of heroes. How does a male, teenage artist tie into this? And why are they send into different stories with previous Kamen Riders and Super Sentai Teams?

  • While not officially considered a true installment of the Super Hero Taisen Series, the film returns to the format of crossing over both the Kamen Rider and Super Sentai franchises since 2017's Kamen Rider × Super Sentai: Chou Super Hero Taisen. According to producer Shinichiro Shirakura, Superhero Senki would be Toei's final crossover film between both franchises.[23]
    • Like its predecessors, the characters of each respective incumbent series' had appeared in each other's series' in the Movie Release Commemorative Combo Special, four days leading up to the film's premiere.
  • This is the first Kamen Rider/Super Sentai film to premiere in the summer as a crossover instead of a double-billing, as Saber's filmIcon-crosswiki.png premiered in December 2020, while Zenkaiger's filmIcon-crosswiki.png premiered in February 2021.
  • This movie marks the very first time that both Naoya MakotoIcon-crosswiki.png and Hiroshi FujiokaIcon-crosswiki.png have reprised their roles (Akarenger & Kamen Rider 1) together in the same project, though Makoto only provided a voice-only role while Fujioka had appeared on-screen as his character.
  • This movie marks the very first time each first Kamen Riders, and Super Sentai Red Rangers from three generations/eras (Showa, Heisei and Reiwa) have fought together:
  • Unlike the Super Hero Taisen Series (not counting the previous supporting Riders and other-colored Sentai Rangers who are part of this movie's major storyline and has reprised original actors), the minor armies of previous heroes in this movie are mostly consisting of previous titular Kamen Riders and previous Sentai Red Rangers, rather than also consisting of previous supporting Riders and previous other-colored Sentai Rangers.
  • This film features the first on-screen "crossover" between the protagonists of both Kamen Rider Zero-OneIcon-crosswiki.png and Kamen Rider SaberIcon-crosswiki.png with Syuichiro NaitoIcon-crosswiki.png and Fumiya TakahashiIcon-crosswiki.png reprising their respective roles. The two were previously unable to appear in their own Movie War film in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which resulted in the production of their own individual films and being released as a double-billingIcon-crosswiki.png.
  • This film features the reappearances of:
    • Kamen Rider 1’s original costume from the first 13 episodes of the 1971 show, which outside of manga, video games and toys (and a brief appearance in Kamen Rider TaisenIcon-crosswiki.png), has not been seen in the TV show or on film in 50 years.
    • Kamen Rider 1's original Cyclone since its last appearance in SkyriderIcon-crosswiki.png.
    • Kamen Rider Decade with his original Decadriver since his last appearance in Kamen Rider Zi-O: Over QuartzerIcon-crosswiki.png.
    • Kamen Rider Saber's Dragon Hedgehog Peter form since its last appearance in Saber Episode 5Icon-crosswiki.png.
    • The out-of-suit appearance of Takeshi HongoIcon-crosswiki.png in 5 years since Kamen Rider 1Icon-crosswiki.png.
    • The gag-playing Hikonnin Sentai AkibarangersIcon-crosswiki.png, though they are in a form of summoned by Zenkaiger's Sentai Gears.
  • This film marks the first on-screen appearance of LunaIcon-crosswiki.png from Kamen Rider SaberIcon-crosswiki.png in her adult form, portrayed by Mayuu YokotaIcon-crosswiki.png. She would later canonically debut as adult Luna in the TV series beginning from episode 44Icon-crosswiki.png.
  • A mannequin of Kamen Rider Shin was used during the gathering of the Riders and Rangers, with wooden pedestals being spottable under his feet in certain shots. This was due to the suit's deterioration since its last usage, and current condition being too poor to be used to perform action sequences. [24]
