Character History[]
Tao Qian is a former thief and safecracker who had gone on a crime spree years before the series began. He was arrested by Taeoh. During the events of the series, he has attempted to reform out of love for his mother, the one person who trusted him. He works a number of small jobs to make money to help her out, where he runs into Liu Bei. The two become friends, and even refer to each other as brothers. However, his identity is figured out by Taeoh, who has now taken on the name Cao Cao. Cao Cao refuses to believe that he has reformed, and attacks him repeatedly. He manages to get flee from their encounters, but is worried that Liu Bei will dissolve their friendship after he learns about his past. However, Liu Bei sticks to his belief that he is now a good person. After reaffirming their friendship, Tao Qian is stopped by an old man who makes him an offer. The next day, Tao Qian as Legend Hero Zhang Kai begins to rob various locations that he was working at. He fights against Legend Hero Guan Yu, who is still trying to reach his "brother", and Legend Hero Xiahou Dun, who is convinced that a bad person cannot change. Legend Hero Zhang Kai is defeated, and as his Hero Piece Zhang Kai turns to stone and dissolves, he says that his lord is a good person and that it was the feather that made him bad. He is later seen helping his mother, his memories of the Dream Battle removed but his reformed personality intact.
Personality[]
Tao Qian appears to be a nonviolent and hardworking individual normally. He has a strong desire to earn money and become rich to take care of his mother. After being hit by the feather dart of Legend Hero Yu Ji, his greed is magnified to the point that he will go on a crime spree stealing and will fight anyone who gets in his way. He appears to be more formidable in this state, as he was able to fight at a much better level despite it being day time.
Form[]
Tao Qian, like all Legend Heroes, transforms into an armored form by
using a Hero Piece. The power of each form is partially based on the user's Hero Power (their will power to fight for their dream), partially the user's skill, and also the bond between the Legend Hero and the Hero Piece.

Legend Hero Zhang Kai is based on the vampire bat. Assumed when Tao Qian combines with the Hero Piece Zhang Kai, this Legend Hero is balanced but has a severe problem. It appears to have a good mix of speed and power, and its Bat Boomerangs can be used for close range combat or thrown for ranged attacks. It has been seen to be very adept at hiding, though it is unknown if is due to Tao Qian or the Legend Hero itself. As it is based on a bat, it is strongest at night and weakest during the day, though this can be overcome if its user has a strong enough will.
