Lucky and some of the Kyurangers refuse to believe Hammie became evil and contest Tsurugi's decision, causing a rift amidst the team that worsens when Space Sheriffs Geki Jumonji and Shu Karasuma intervene. Little they know that the events are masterminded by the Genmakuu organization, who has sent one of their top-member, Space Ninja Demost, who also revived Mele, Juzo Fuwa, Basco Ta Jolokia, and Escape to assist him in his plan.
Plot

There, the universe has been rebuilding since Don Armage's defeat four years ago under Tsurugi Ohtori's leadership while the Kyurangers have parted ways to live their lives until Shou Ronpo discovers that Hammie stole four of the newly developed Neo Kyutama. This causes a division upon the Kyurangers who those following Tsurugi who seek her arrest while Lucky and the rest wanting to find Hammie and try to find out the reason for her actions.
Hammie brings the Kyutama to Demost, who uses them to revive Mere, Juzo Fuwa, Basco Ta Jolokia, and Escape to serve under him. He then sends the five to attack the other Kyurangers in a hit-and-run, worsening Hammie's creditability as Shu and his fellow Space Sheriff Geki Jumonji offer their aid. It would be revealed that Hammie is being extorted by Demost who is holding her mentor hostage after she was assumed dead during Jark Matter's reign of terror, the space ninja forcing Hammie to comply with the order to assassinate Tsurugi.
Hammie makes the attempt when Tsurugi makes a public announcement of stepping down in light of the recent events, only to hesitate as Geki and Shu reveal her forced compliance to Demost as he is exposed as one of Tsurugi's aides in disguise, Naga and Balance having rescued Hammie's master as added evidence. Demost attempts to kill Hammie when Mele, having feigned loyalty while becoming a friend to the fellow chameleon-themed warrior, sacrifices herself. The Kyurangers, Gavan, and Shaider defeat Demost with Juzo, Basco, and Escape returning to the afterlife after his spell is broken. Following Geki's offer to Lucky to join the Space Squad, he and Shu take Demost back to their universe and are informed by Jiraiya about a massive terrorist attack led by Genmakuu. Notes
- According to Space Squad writer Naruhisa Arakawa, Machineman from Seiun Kamen Machineman was his most wanted Toei Hero that he planned to add in the sequel.[2] Unfortunately, it doesn't happen.
- Of the three current Space Sheriffs, Kai Hyuga/Sharivan is the only one not to appear. This is due to the retirement of his actor, Riki Miura, from the entertainment industry.[3]
- This movie sees Hammie/Chameleon Green of the Chameleon System fighting alongside her fellow Chameleon warrior from Gekiranger, Mele.
- However, Mele's presence among the Super Sentai Villains is curious in that she was uniquely redeemed by the end of her series alongside her partner Rio and, despite condemning their souls to revive in Engine Sentai Go-Onger vs. Gekiranger, they would fight with the Super Sentai in the Legend War.
- She was revived with her original personality as she revealed to still be loyal to Rio and she refuses to obey Demost so he brainwashes her to serve him.
- Basco has prior connections with two of his fellow Sentai Villains.
- An Avatar recreation of Basco briefly fought alongside Escape in Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters vs. Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger: The Movie.
- During Gokaiger, Mele's was among the Ranger Keys collected by Basco following the Legend War, and he summoned "Mele (Beast-Man Form)" on two occasions before it was claimed by the Gokaigers.
- Basco is also connected to Metal Heroes through his appearance in the film Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger vs. Uchuu Keiji Gavan: The Movie, where he informed the Gokaigers that Retsu Ichijouji had been imprisoned in Makuu Space. He intended to take advantage of their absence as they set off to Makuu Space by seizing the Gokai Galleon, only to be thwarted by the Go-Busters trio.
- Several English romanizations of the Metal Heroes' names were shown in this film for the first time:
- Space Wolf Juspion
- Jiban The Mobile Cop
- Janperson Fight For Justice
- Luka Millfy appearing and getting into a scuffle with Raptor 283 is a reference to the fact both characters are portrayed by M • A • O.
- Akio Ōtsuka (Champ) and Hiroshi Kamiya (Shou Ronpo) also appear in this scene as customers of Spada.
- It is never explained how Luka travelled to the Kyurangers' universe, although her appearance is almost certainly simply for fan service.
- The cameo appearance of Ryouma Kagawa/Fire in this film marks the first return of this character over 26 years after the final episode of Solbrain.
- Notably, Ryouma appears in his Fire form, rather than his Knight Fire form he had in Solbrain.
- Five of the six members of the Kyurangers that defend Hammie (Shishi Red, Ookami Blue, Oushi Black, Chameleon Green, and Kajiki Yellow) are the first five Kyurangers to appear transformed in the series. These are also the Kyurangers' whose Voyagers make up the main formation for Kyutama Gattai KyurenOh.
- Additionally, the Kyurangers are divided into odd number Rangers for those who are defending Hammie (1/Shishi Red, 3/Ookami Blue, 5/Oushi Black, 7/Chameleon Green, 9/Kajiki Yellow, & 11/Koguma Skyblue), and even number for those against Hammie (2/Sasori Orange, 4/Tenbin Gold, 6/Hebitsukai Silver, 8/Washi Pink, 12/Houou Soldier). Team Lucky has odd numbers while Team Tsurugi has even numbers. This is due to their Kyutama numbers.
- Shou doesn’t transform into Ryu Commander in this movie, and as such is the only Kyuranger not to be part of either side during the team's conflict.
- However, Shou's ranger form only appears in the movie poster.
- This is the first feature length installment in the Space Squad franchise to not be written by Naruhisa Arakawa, instead being written by Kyuranger head writer Nobuhiro Mouri.
