Uchuu Kaisokusen is a sci-fi/superhero tokusatsu film produced by Toei. It was later dubbed and edited for US television as Invasion of the Neptune Men.
Plot[]
Astronomer Shinichi Tachibana has a secret identity as superhero "Iron Sharp" (changed to "Space Chief" in the English dub) and has many children as friends. When they are attacked by a group of metallic aliens ("Neptune Men" in English), Iron Sharp drives the aliens away. The resourceful Tachibana helps develop an electric barrier to block the aliens from coming to the Earth. After several losses by the aliens, they announce that they will invade the Earth, throwing the world into a state of panic. The aliens destroy entire cities with their mothership and smaller fighters. After Iron Sharp destroys multiple enemy ships, Japan fires a nuclear missile at the mothership, destroying it.

A Shout! Factory Classic Tokusatsu Collection Blu-Ray box
On February 12, 2024, Shout! Factory announced their acquisition of this film used the title Invasion of the Neptune Men as the localization for North American distribution released on limited print Blu-Ray on February 27, 2024, with pre-orders from the official website.[1]

- The US version film was riffed on an episode of the series Mystery Science Theater 3000 and featured a reappearance of the character Krankor from The Prince of Space played by Bill Corbett in one of their sketch segments.
