She says she escaped from the clutches of evil and came from a different dimension world. When Kenta draws his imaginary hero, "Wingman," in Aoi's Dream Note, he actually gains the ability to transform into Wingman. Notes[]

90s Wingman suit
  • Although this is the first live-action adaptation series of Wingman, however, at 1990s, Masakazu had already recieved a suit made by Rainbow Zoukei based on the manga appearance. The suit was eventually used as the base reference for the 2024 redesign.
  • Due to the involvement with Toei during the production, the live-action series uses various Toei-licensed heroes (such as Kamen Rider, Super Sentai and Metal Heroes) as props, background settings and references, although the present-day modern ones were never mentioned in the original manga due to it taking place in the early 1980s.
    • The manga did reference Showa Era tokusatsu such as Dynaman, the Space Sheriffs, Ultraman and Kamen Rider ZX as Kenta's collection of toys and posters in his room.
